I love my futon but my back is sore from the mattress - what to do?
It came with one of those cotton batting mattresses made in china - the kind that turns to rock when you lie on it. I don't know if a foam mattress will fold properly when the futon is in 'sofa' mode. Also I don't want to spend alot of money - the futon and mattress together were a bargain ( got it used for sixty dollars). Anyone out there have an idea to make the futon a more comfortable place to sleep? Thanks!
Buy a sheet of foam rubber (you might need to source this from somewhere near you) or go to a camping/outdoor store and buy a camping sleep mattress. These are usually thin enough to roll up but comfy enough for sleeping on. Place this on top of your lumpy old mattress when you sleep.
