Wal-mart/Target furniture? Opinions...?
For my new apartment, I'm looking at purchasing the four-piece (sofa, chair, ottoman, and loveseat) set from Target/Wal-mart. They have the exact same set at about $1000. This would be just a temporary fix until I can afford some more expensive furniture at a higher quality. Does anyone have experience purchasing furniture from either of these places online? Is their furniture comfortable enough to survive a year in?
If you can choose between Wal-Mart and Target, I would definitely go with Target. The quality tends to be a lot better than Wal-Mart. In fact, the quality of Target's furniture is pretty good. My husband and I just decorated a new home and we bought a lot of pieces from Target even though we can afford to shop anywhere.
Wal-Mart's furniture tends to be made of cheap finishes and fabrics, but Target generally uses better materials, and you can often find very stylish pieces. If you will only need them for a year, you will definitely get your money's worth at Target.
But for $1000, you also could afford to shop at www.roomstogo.com and in fact, you could get a whole room for that price. And their furniture is of very good quality.
